Corinne Ashton and Dobbin
WELCOME
I have ridden and competed for as long as I can remember starting way back with my Pony Club days in Bonnie Scotland.

While dabbling with those ponies at gymkanas and in show jumping rings my passion was always eventing and I was lucky enough to enjoy an early introduction at those events.

My enthusiam grew steadily over the years encouraged by my successes and diligent coaching from my mother, herself a skilled horsewoman.

I had several wonderful horses in Scotland, two of which continued on to Badminton and the British Young Riders team. Since relocating to the USA, some 15 years ago, I escaped an accounting career and found my way back to my four legged friends. I rode for several years bringing horses up through the ranks before I found Dobbin in the local wantadvertiser. a 16 hand, three year-old TB still in the field he was born in.

His star record speaks for itself.

In his first year he did one novice and five training level events placing either 1st or second in all of them. In his second year as a five year old he ran preliminary and was always in the top three. He did his first CCI* at Bromont as a six year old and was placed 2nd. He competed intermediate the rest of the year and ran Morven Park CCI* that fall finishing 5th out of 99 starters.

He continued at intermediate the next year, 2001 and went to Radnor CCI** where he finished 3rd.

In 2002 the United States Equestrian Team added me to their Long List of three-day event riders and invited me to participate in the Developing Rider Program. I joined David O'Connor in Ocala in January of 2002 for a training session, competed advanced for the rest of the year and went to Fairhill International CCI*** in October 2002 where we finished 16th out of 80 starters.

In January of 2003 we were again selected to join the Developing Rider Program in Ocala this time with Karen O’Connor. As for the rest of 2003, after finishing 2nd in the CIC** at Red Hills and 6th out of 95 starters at Foxhall 2003 we were asked to participate in the selection process for the Pan American Games this fall. So I hope to compete at the CCI**** level representing the USA at the very pinnacle of my sport.
